Spark in the Dark

Wednesday, October 24, 2018

6-8pm in the gym

Join us for our 4th annual Spark in the Dark party the week before Halloween! There will be games, food, prizes, candy, and more! Invite your friends and family! Costumes welcome.

Note: This is not a “normal” KidLife Club night – we are not meeting in separate groups and leaders are not responsible for watching the children. We want this to be a family event, so come join your kids for a night of fun! It’s also a great time to invite friends and neighbors to RRC. Hot dogs will be available along with other snacks. If you have any questions, please call 866-2308 or email connect@rockfordrc.org.

SeptemberFest

Sunday, September 9, 2018

Sunday, September 9 is our annual SeptemberFest! We will be having our worship service outdoors followed by an all-church picnic, complete with music, games, activities, prizes, and delicious food. There will still be KidLife Worship available for the kids. We will also have a giant slip-and-slide for the kids (and brave adults), so be sure to pack bathing suits and towels! For lunch, we will provide hotdogs, hamburgers, water, lemonade, and sno-kones. Please bring a dish to pass (sides, salads, desserts).

Derby Car Race

Wednesday, April 11, 2018 • 6:30pm

RRC gym • hot dogs and chips available for dinner

Everyone is invited to join us for an evening of races, prizes, food, and fun!  Cars are created by our 1-5 graders in class and they will race against their own age group. Cars do not go home with kids until the race is over. Trophies for 1st-3rd place in each age group!

And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:1b-2a).

About the ornaments

In Haiti, children make soccer balls out of rags. These “rag ball” ornaments were made to remind us of our blessings and to support the Haiti Foundation Against Poverty.

Pioneer Clubs Update

The Beacon - September/October 2012

By Brenda VanderHeide • From our September/October 2012 newsletter

Pioneer Clubs are for children ages 2 years through 5th grade. We meet Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 p.m. starting in the Sanctuary. Parents of 2-year-olds through Kindergarten must stay in the building during Clubs. It’s a perfect chance to check out the Adult Bible Studies going on at the same time!

Come early the first night for a family pizza party – 6:00 p.m., September 19 in the Family Life Center.

Our theme this year is based on Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Volunteers are needed! Parents and church members, please prayerfully consider leading a Bible Exploration (4 weeks), or being a club leader or helper. We have many areas that need extra hands and hearts, even outside of the club classrooms.

Please check out our club information table at the Fall Festival on Sunday, September 9. Club registration will be available there.
