Sunday, September 9 is our annual SeptemberFest! We will be having our worship service outdoors followed by an all-church picnic, complete with music, games, activities, prizes, and delicious food. There will still be KidLife Worship available for the kids. We will also have a giant slip-and-slide for the kids (and brave adults), so be sure to pack bathing suits and towels! For lunch, we will provide hotdogs, hamburgers, water, lemonade, and sno-kones. Please bring a dish to pass (sides, salads, desserts).

Haiti Mission Trip

Donations due Sunday, June 10, 2018

We are in a time of prayer and preparation as we get ready to send another team to Haiti. In addition to prayer, we are also asking for some donations. Below is a list of items that will be utilized in Haiti while the team does teacher training, provides Bible studies, holds Vacation Bible Schools, and walks alongside our Haitian neighbors.

Monetary Donations are tax-deductible. We are anticipating about $1000 in baggage fees in addition to the costs of our in-country projects (Bible Studies, Day Camps, Teacher Bed Deliveries, etc.). Checks can be made out to RRC Missions Team.

We just received a call from Haiti about starting up a Sunday School program at a church in Port-au-Prince. The church currently has 80-100 children attending each Sunday and has hired a Director of Children’s Ministries, BUT they need our help. They are lacking the curriculum, furniture, and resources necessary to help this program, J.A.M. (Jesus and Me, or in Creole, Jezi Ak Mwen), thrive. Our team will be responsible for training the volunteers for this program AND for making the children’s space a place where they can experience the love of Jesus each and every Sunday. If you would like to make a monetary donation to help with this effort, please consider doing so! Checks can be made out to RRC Missions and are tax-deductible. Thanks! Mesi Anpil!

Baby Bottle Blessings

May 13 – June 17, 2018

RRC is once again partnering with Alpha Family Center of Cedar Springs to raise money for their organization. Alpha Family Center is a Christ-centered ministry that serves women and families who face an unwanted, unplanned, or at-risk pregnancy. By educating women who face a crisis pregnancy, women and their families are able to make informed decisions.

To participate in the Baby Bottle Blessings fundraiser, please pray for the center, take home an empty baby bottle, and fill it with your spare change, dollar bills, or checks (made out to Alpha Family Center). Bottles will be available at RRC on Mother’s Day, May 13. Please return them by Father’s Day, June 17. We will return them to Alpha Family Center for you. This is a great opportunity to teach our children about sharing God’s love while making a difference in the community!

Cleanup Day

Monday-Tuesday, June 3 & 4, 2019 • 9-12 noon

We have another landscaping project that we could use some help with! The landscaping beds at the entrance of our parking lot are being removed due to an invasive weed that keeps returning. Come when you can, bring shovels, rakes, etc. Contact Roger Hoogewind if you have any questions.

Haiti Inquiry Meeting

Info Meeting – Sunday, Feb 10, 2019 •  12:00pm at Espwa Boutique

We are in the process of assembling a team to send to Haiti again this year. We will once again be partnering with the Haiti Foundation Against Poverty (haitipoverty.org) and look forward to serving alongside this amazing organization. We will meet at Espwa Boutique (120 Courtland, right across from Cinco de Mayo). Please bring something to sit on.

Here is what we know so far:
  • Who: Team of 21 or less (Mallery and Frentz Neptune will not be in Haiti when we are)
  • What: Mission Trip to Haiti; Focus = Education
  • Where: Hope House in Port-au-Prince and Jeremie
  • When: June 18 -25 or June 19-26 (depends on costs of flight)
  • Why: Because there are a lot of unreached people in Haiti and we have the opportunity and means to help. We work alongside the Haiti Foundation Against Poverty and embrace their vision to Educate, Equip, and Empower the Haitian people.
  • How: Fundraising for projects and in-country costs (this includes room/board, food, drivers, translators, security and is $650/person, etc) & about $1,000 cost per person (this includes airfare, application fee, passport, meds, spending money, etc.)
