Moms Morning at the Track

Moms Morning at the Track

Hey moms! Do you find it hard to get running or walking time – or even social time – with other ladies while your kids are home for the summer? Come to the Moms Morning at the Track! Every Wednesday morning all summer 9:00 a.m. at North Rockford Middle School track starting June 19, 2013. Bring your kids with soccer balls, footballs, anything to play on the field while we run and walk circles around them. Great way to keep an eye on your kids while you get a workout and connect with other moms.

Oklahoma Tornado Relief

Special Offering

Help victims of the Oklahoma Tornado. Use the Special Offering envelope from your packet or use a pew envelope, mark it “Tornado Relief” and place it in the offering plate. Make checks payable to Rockford Reformed Church. Deadline is Sunday, June 16.

A two-mile wide tornado ripped through Moore, Oklahoma, on May 20. Twenty-four people were killed (including nine children), and 240 were injured. As many as 13,000 homes were destroyed.

Reformed Church World Service immediately launched disaster response efforts with partner World Renew. Your help is needed.

Early response coordinators Rich and Pat Grasman are already in Moore, helping with spiritual care and needs assessment. In time, volunteers will be needed for rebuilding and repair work. In the meantime, financial donations are urgently needed.

Please pray for the people whose lives have been torn apart by this tornado – for people who have lost loved ones, suffered injury, or sustained damage to their homes or businesses. Pray too for the rescue workers, first responders, and early response coordinators.

Trisha Van Stensel will contact you when an opportunity to use your gifts arises. There is no need to fill this out if you already did the paper version.

You may also want to consider signing this petition to make a child’s right to a family a priority.

The Stuck movie will be available in our church library shortly! You can also download it ($12.99) and watch it on your own time.

Stuck

Stuck

Wednesday, May 15, 2013 • 6:30pm

Join us in the Sanctuary for a showing of Stuck. Childcare available!

Stuck CoverStuck is a new award-winning documentary film that uncovers the personal, real-life stories of children and parents navigating a roller coaster of bureaucracy on their journeys through the international adoption system, each filled with hope, elation – and sometimes heartbreak. Stuck steps into the complex human experience of adoption, exploring the challenges faced by birth parents, prospective adoptive parents – and children. Stuck is a testament to the power of human love and the inexplicable connection between parent and child – even when separated by thousands of miles and seemingly insurmountable obstacles. It is a love story of a different kind that celebrates the indefatigable human spirit, the loyalty and the devotion that bonds these parents and kids together as families.
