Flu Clinic

Offered by the Spectrum Health Continuing Care Visiting Nurse Association (VNA). For your health and the safety of others, the best way to prevent the spreading of flu is to get your flu shot. This is especially true if you spend time with the young or elderly. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone older than six months be vaccinated for the flu. Spectrum Health provides a number of convenient ways for you and your family to get vaccinated, including this clinic at Rockford Reformed Church.

REAL Men

Every other Friday, 7am, Arnie’s Restaurant

REAL exists to strengthen our relationship with Christ and with each other by authentically sharing our faith journey so we all can be encouraged and grow in our faith.

REAL is a group that strives to create authentic and meaningful relationships among men and that desires a deeper relationship with Christ. It is a group that believes God is actively working in our lives, and that we all have a story that He wants us to tell. It is not a Bible study or an accountability group, and it is not exclusive to RRC, so invite others! Each meeting will feature a speaker. See below for the current schedule.

Note: Starting in January, we will be meeting at Arnie’s Restaurant, 34 S Squires St, downtown Rockford. The restaurant isn’t open at that time, so we have the place to ourselves. Coffee and refreshments provided.

Goals

  • Relationship – God created to us to be in fellowship, and when we share in life, we experience the fullness of the life he created for us.
  • Encouragement – God has enriched our lives with experiences that are not just for us. The blessings and tribulations of our lives are also intended to enrich the lives of others.
  • Authenticity – We are perfectly loved by God and our need for acceptance is found in Him alone. This frees us to express ourselves as who we are, not as who we wish we were.
  • Love – With humility and grace towards others as God does with each of us.

Growing Together
A biblical approach to fruitful ministry in the body of Christ
Fireside Room 253
Begins February 27, 2019

What does fruitful interpersonal ministry look like? This 6-week video study explores six ways we grow together as the body of Christ:
  • By expressing true need for God and for others
  • By combining knowledge of people with knowledge of Scripture
  • By praying in ways that connect actual human need to the promises of God
  • By understanding the centrality of friendship in the Christian life
  • By keeping a close watch on ourselves in pursuit of integrity
  • By maturing together as each of us puts the Spirit’s gifts to work so that we grow up into the likeness of Christ

What Makes You Happy
by Andy Stanley
Women’s Study Led by Polly Johnson, Room 250
Begins January 9, 2019

Everybody wants to be happy. Everybody is on a happiness quest. For many, happiness is measured in moments. Experiences. It’s elusive. Unsustainable. What about you? What makes you happy? Something comes to mind for each of us. We are often tempted to believe that happiness comes from acquiring things, but happiness is actually an outcome of what we sow in our lives. We can’t acquire, consume, or exercise our way to happiness, but we may be able to serve and volunteer our way there. In the end, we find that if we live as if it’s all about us, we will never be happy.

Bible Studies – Tuesdays

Tuesdays • 9:30-11:00am

Woman of God (begins April 9, 2019)
Led by Carol Knox, Room 212

How can we become women of God? These studies from Old and New Testament passages show us how to develop the traits of a godly woman: how to be strong, trustworthy, wise, resourceful, forgiving, beautiful, content, confident – and how to claim God’s grace when we fall short. This study guide in the new revised format features questions for starting group discussions and for meeting God in personal reflection, as well as a “Now or Later” section in each study. 10 studies for individuals or groups. Book by Cindy Bunch. Learn more here.
