Organic Outreach for Ordinary People

More than anything, Christians want to see other people come to Christ. So why do most of us find it so difficult to join in making that happen?

The truth is, God is the One who brings people to Himself. But as He invites you and me to join Him in that process, we can experience one of life’s greatest joys! It doesn’t have to be difficult, because He wants to use us just the way He made us—bringing others closer to Christ, one step at a time!

Come join other Christ-followers from other local churches at Organic Outreach for Ordinary People Workshop. Together, we’ll join hearts and minds for a day of inspiration, fun, collaboration and practical insights.

About Organic Outreach International

Organic Outreach is about living the kind of life that naturally draws people to Jesus. It involves speaking the kinds of words that you use in ordinary conversations and that reveal the presence of a loving God. It means loving people in a way that is genuine. Organic Outreach is all about sharing our faith in a way that is authentic, real, and feels natural to the people around us. Organic Outreach International is a ministry of Shoreline Community Church in Monterey, California. We are committed to providing training and coaching to churches around the world in reaching out to the lost through building relationships and having natural conversations.

SeptemberFest

Sunday, September 8, 2018

Sunday, September 8 is our annual SeptemberFest! We will once again have our worship service outdoors, so dress for the weather. It’s forecasted to be a bit chilly, so wear something warm! Please bring chairs if you can – maybe even extras to share with those who don’t bring their own. We will have folding chairs available for those who need them. KidLife Worship and nursery will be available.

After service, it’s time to eat! Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided, along with buns, toppings, tableware, and water. Please bring a dish to share (salads, sides, chips, desserts, etc.). You can drop it off in the gym / kitchen before service. This year, we plan to have the food tables set up in the gym so we don’t have to worry about the wind blowing everything away. Once you get your food, please head back outside to eat. We will have some tables set up, or just circle up the chairs you brought! Please don’t bring chairs into the gym.

We will also be handing out information on all of our various ministries, fall programming, and volunteer opportunities, so this is a good time to learn how to plug into the RRC community and have any questions answered.

Also be on the lookout for:
  • cornhole tournament – signups will be available Sunday
  • bounce houses – we will have one outdoors for the older kids, and one in the gym for kids 5 and under
  • 9 square
  • ice cream table
  • guessing jars for prizes
  • other games and activities – also feel free to bring games of your own!
  • lost and found table in the gym

Haiti Mission Trip

Donations due Sunday, July 21, 2019

As you know, RRC has been serving in Haiti for nearly a decade. We have been blessed to work alongside the Haiti Foundation Against Poverty (HFAP) and are still extremely invested in this organization’s ministries. This year however, we have been called to serve in a different capacity and are excited about this new opportunity.

On July 29, a team from Rockford will be traveling to Haiti to serve with Greg Yoder and Christian World Outreach (CWO). We will still spend a day serving with HFAP in Port-au-Prince, but then will head to the countryside to serve with CWO. We are extremely excited to see another side of Haiti and share the gospel with some of the world’s most unreached people. While there, we will be sharing His love with 500+ children in the community of Monbin.

With any new opportunity, there are also new challenges. One of our challenges has to do with fundraising. We are traveling to La Victoire in northern Haiti and therefore have additional travel expenses to consider. We also would LOVE to share a meal with the 500 children that we work with each day. We want to feed their souls and their bodies, but know that we can only do so with the support of our friends and family.

With that said, we are sincerely asking for your prayers. Pray that God will prepare us for our visit and bless our efforts as we minister to the people of Haiti. We also need prayers that our financial needs will be met. At this time, we need to raise $4,500 for the feeding program we hope to provide in the countryside. Donations can be made directly to CWO online at cwomissions.org. Please designate in the comments section that your donation is for the Rockford team. You can also donate by writing a check to RRC Missions. Please include in the memo line that your donation is for Haiti.

Please know that whether you feel led to contribute financially, through prayer, or both, all of your support is greatly appreciated. We look forward to doing God’s work in Haiti and letting you know all about how God has worked through this team when we return later in August.
