MS Mission Trip

July 31 – August 6, 2016

Milwaukee is a wonderful city that unfortunately struggles with poverty. The city’s 29% poverty rate is around double the national average. The Middle School Youth Group will travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to try and bring God’s love to this community through prayer and service.
No matter what type of work project we have, we will partner with a local ministry. This allows us to know we are serving organizations that will continue to help the community long after we leave. Each worksite will have Next Step Ministry staff on hand to help students safely learn skills and accomplish projects.
$325. This cost includes meals Sunday night through Saturday morning. Students are responsible for two meals – we will stop once on the way to Milwaukee and once on the way home for food (Subway, Wendy’s, etc). There are plenty of ways students can fundraise towards their trip. Ask Brian Ellis about grow packets to learn more.
How to Sign up:
To reserve a spot, turn in a $50 deposit by April 13. The full balance for the trip will be due May 11th. Spots are limited and students will be signed up on a first come, first serve basis. Please do not hesitate to contact Brian Ellis with any questions.

Bible Studies – Fridays

Fridays • 9:30-11:00am (starts April 15)

Making wise choices in the midst of raw emotions (Lysa TerKeurst)
To sign up: contact Emillie Clayton or Trisha Van Stensel by April 10 so we can order your book!
What do we often do with our raw emotions? We stuff, we explode, or react somewhere in between. Is it really possible to make emotions work for us instead of against us? Her answer is yes, and in her usual inspiring and practical way, Lysa shows you how.
Filled with gut-honest personal examples and Biblical teaching,
Unglued will equip you to know with confidence how to:
  • Resolve conflict in your important relationships
  • Find peace in your most difficult relationships as you learn to be honest but kind when offended
  • Identify what type of reactor you are and how to significantly improve your communication
  • Respond with no regrets by managing your tendencies to stuff, explode or react somewhere in between
  • And how to gain a deep sense of calm by responding to situations out of your control without acting out of control
Childcare available. Led by Emillie Clayton and Trisha Van Stensel, Fireside Room.
