Congregational Survey

Congregational Survey
“Give me your two cents worth in just five minutes!” -Pastor David

Here is a simple survey that allows you to give Pastor David some very specific feedback on Rockford Reformed Church in just five minutes. Quick and Easy. Tell him what you think about:

  • our worship
  • our ministries for different age groups (children, youth, adults)
  • how effectively we’re organized
  • how well we communicate
Twenty-six clicks of your mouse is all it will take! So easy you can do it during a TV commercial! Do it now! Just Do It!

Survey is closed. Thank you for participating!

The Goal: 250 respondents

The Results: Get them at the next Congregational Information Meeting on September 14th

All-Church Training

All-Church Leadership and Volunteer Training

Wednesday, August 20, 2014 • 6-8pm

Get oriented, get motivated, get ready to kick off a great year of ministry together!

Don’t miss this important training and team-building event for all church leaders and volunteers. Whatever your role (usher, teacher, Ministry Team member, music leader, Consistory, Bible study leader, Children’s Ministries, Youth Ministries, Worship Team, staff) your presence is important! Child care will be provided. Please sign up here and, if you need child care, please indicate how many children you’ll be bringing with you.

During hour one, we’ll all be meeting together in the sanctuary. We’ll learn what the Bible has to teach us about serving. We’ll take a look at Leadership Principles that distinguish Christian ministry from volunteering. We’ll make sure all of us understand how to create a safe and caring environment for everyone who enters our doors.

During hour two you will meet with the team members you serve with (see breakout sessions below). If you’re on more than one team, choose to attend the team that is your primary responsibility and let your other team leader know why you won’t be attending. They’ll probably have some important handouts to share with you.

We’re looking forward to an important training and team-building time together. Please choose to invest in your ministry here at RRC by joining us!

We have two new videos in the family section of the library:

1. The Jesus Film (F-626) – donated by Mike Knox. It is the latest video put out by Campus Crusade showing the life of Jesus in dramatic form. It has been shown worldwide – viewed by more than 6 billion people.

2. Mercy Rule (F-628) – a family video starring Kirk Cameron (Fireproof and Courageous) and comedian Tim Hawkins. It is a movie about baseball and family – or, maybe – family and baseball.

Pastor David Dethmers

David DethmersI’ve been serving as a Specialized Transition Minister since April of 2012, after serving congregations in New Jersey, New York, and Colorado and serving the Reformed Church in America in International Ministries for a dozen years. It gives me great joy to share God’s word with people who are hungry for it and to help congregations hear and pursue God’s calling on their lives.

My wife, Anna, and I live in Canadian Lakes and love living in the midst of God’s magnificent creation. I enjoy hiking, biking, reading, and just hanging out by our river.

My favorite Bible verse: Micah 6:8 – “God has shown you what is good. And what does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God!!” If that isn’t the key to a fulfilled life, I don’t know what is!
