Family Spotlight: The Muellers

The Beacon - March/April 2012

From our March/April 2012 newsletter

MuellerAttending since fall of 2010 • Jaime and Brandon Mueller are a self-described typical family – two busy working parents with a young family. Like many parents, they wanted a church with a vibrant children’s and youth programs with opportunities to get involved. They also wanted a church that still had some traditional elements, and that’s exactly what they found at Rockford Reformed Church.

Jaime and Brandon were both born and raised in the Grand Rapids / Rockford area. During high school and college, they both worked at Russ’ Restaurant on Plainfield Ave. – he was a cook and she was a waitress. It was a match made in heaven! They were married in June of 2005 after three years of dating. They built a house in Rockford (where they still live), and a few years later welcomed their first child, Sawyer. Two years later, in 2010, Jordyn was born. As a family, they enjoy doing whatever they can outside – camping, swimming, fishing – and spending time with friends and family. Jaime works at AppleTree Christian Learning Centers as a center director, and Brandon attends Ferris State University, where he is studying for his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, while also doing maintenance for Waterworks. In the meantime, they continue to enjoy being involved with RRC, where Brandon was recently elected to a three-year term as a service deacon. Says Jaime, “We are blessed to be a part of such a great Christian community!”

Pray for Haiti!

The Beacon - March/April 2012

By Rachel DeKuiper • From our March/April 2012 newsletter

Poverty. Destruction. Faith. Hope. All of these themes resonate in the country of Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. I’ve had the privilege of traveling to Haiti twice and will travel there again in July with team members from Rockford Reformed Church.
