Bible Studies – Tuesdays

Tuesdays • 9:30-11:00am

Woman of God (begins April 9, 2019)
Led by Carol Knox, Room 212

How can we become women of God? These studies from Old and New Testament passages show us how to develop the traits of a godly woman: how to be strong, trustworthy, wise, resourceful, forgiving, beautiful, content, confident – and how to claim God’s grace when we fall short. This study guide in the new revised format features questions for starting group discussions and for meeting God in personal reflection, as well as a “Now or Later” section in each study. 10 studies for individuals or groups. Book by Cindy Bunch. Learn more here.

SeptemberFest

Sunday, September 9, 2018

Sunday, September 9 is our annual SeptemberFest! We will be having our worship service outdoors followed by an all-church picnic, complete with music, games, activities, prizes, and delicious food. There will still be KidLife Worship available for the kids. We will also have a giant slip-and-slide for the kids (and brave adults), so be sure to pack bathing suits and towels! For lunch, we will provide hotdogs, hamburgers, water, lemonade, and sno-kones. Please bring a dish to pass (sides, salads, desserts).

NKC Toilet Paper Drive

August 2018

RRC is collecting toilet paper during the month of August for North Kent Connect. It is one of the items they are in need of right now. Please bring donations to the church lobby – we have a large wooden crate you can place them in. Thank you for helping your neighbors in need!

Discovery Class

Next class: Sunday, Feb. 10 & 17, 2019, 12:30-2:30pm

If you are thinking about membership with Rockford Reformed Church, or if you just want to learn more about us, this class is for you! Attending class in no way obligates you to join. We will explain the basic beliefs and background of the Reformed Church in America and answer any questions regarding our worship, ministry, or doctrine. Lunch will be provided. Childcare available if needed. Registration required. Please contact the office (connect@rockfordrc.org, 616-866-2308) if you would like to participate.

Beginning June 10, 2018, Pastor Tim will meet with one care group at a time after the worship service to share a bit of what we are up to during the transition and for you to ask questions. If you are away on the day assigned to your care group, you are welcome to join us on another day. Schedule will be posted as we finalize the dates. Meet in the Fireside Room (253).

Baby Bottle Blessings

May 13 – June 17, 2018

RRC is once again partnering with Alpha Family Center of Cedar Springs to raise money for their organization. Alpha Family Center is a Christ-centered ministry that serves women and families who face an unwanted, unplanned, or at-risk pregnancy. By educating women who face a crisis pregnancy, women and their families are able to make informed decisions.

To participate in the Baby Bottle Blessings fundraiser, please pray for the center, take home an empty baby bottle, and fill it with your spare change, dollar bills, or checks (made out to Alpha Family Center). Bottles will be available at RRC on Mother’s Day, May 13. Please return them by Father’s Day, June 17. We will return them to Alpha Family Center for you. This is a great opportunity to teach our children about sharing God’s love while making a difference in the community!

Kids Hope Fundraiser

Monday, April 30, 2018 • 6:30-8:00pm

Fireside Room

At the end of the year party we would love to present each student with a new book for their summer reading. We could also use some new books to stock the Kids Hope room. By purchasing books for the kids you know (or donating a book on my wishlist), you are supporting and providing books for some children in a program that loves and supports children in the Rockford Community.

Think birthday parties, travel activities, educational materials, Christmas and birthday presents. This party will also be a good opportunity for food and fellowship. Are you unfamiliar with Kids Hope USA? Please join us and learn more about it. Please Come and Bring Your Friends!!!

If you can’t make it to the party, you can order online here.
