Outdoor Service

July 5: No outdoor service due to heat and holiday weekend. Live service online @ 9am.
While the building is still closed, we will be having service outdoors at 9am as long as weather permits it. An email will be sent out each week with more information.
Our goal is to worship God with consideration for the safety of others and ourselves. The service will take place in the back parking lot. Here are a few guidelines that we ask you to please abide by.
There are some who may wish to consider worshipping from home or in their car:
  • If you are part of the vulnerable population (over the age of 65, or if you have a medical condition or are on medications that compromise your immune system).
  • If you are at higher risk of having exposure to coronavirus (you work in a setting with definite or likely contact with people who have Covid-19, or if you have traveled to an area with a high prevalence or Covid-19 in the past 2 weeks).
  • We know some of you are excited to be back together, but please be wise in assessing your own health. Church is one of those places we often show up to no matter how we feel, but at this time, that doesn’t work. Staying home while sick is a way we love our neighbor, so please help us out with that.

What to Bring

  • Chairs if you won’t be sitting in your car.
  • Masks are strongly encouraged for those 2 and over. We have individually wrapped cloth masks available for adults and older kids (that you may keep). A $5 donation to North Kent Connect is appreciated. We also have individually wrapped disposable child-size masks. We are encouraging masks not out of fear, but out of love for others, because any one of us could be a carrier of Covid-19 and not know it. Wearing a mask helps prevent us from spreading it to those around us.
  • Water or drinks if you think you might need them.
  • Sunglasses. Because of the parking lot acoustics and so that Tim doesn’t have to stare into the sun, he will be preaching from the southeast corner of the back lot, which means that some of us will be facing the sun.
  • Your Bible.
  • A gracious attitude! We are all doing our best and figuring things out as we go.
  • Also, until we are able to get a tent or canopy, you may want to bring an umbrella for shade.

  • Ushers will be in the parking lot to direct you.
  • Those who plan to stay in their car will be directed to the north side of the back lot. We ask that those staying in their cars turn their engines off. If you have difficulty hearing, the sermon will be transmitted via radio – tune in to 97.5 FM.
  • Those with chairs will park and walk to the south side of the back lot. If mobility is not a problem for you, please leave the closer spaces (nearer the prayer garden) available for those who need them. We have marked off socially distant seating areas and ushers will be there to guide you. We ask that only those who live in the same household sit together at this time.
  • Please follow social distancing guidelines: keep a minimum of 6 feet from all non-household members. We know you will want to handshake, hug, and greet each other warmly because you haven’t seen people in a while, but we need to save those greetings for the future.

During & After Service

  • The order of service, song lyrics, and scripture will be emailed each week. You can print them off, or bring your phone with you. We will also have a paper printout available if you need it.
  • We will not be passing an offering plate. We will have drop boxes available. Online giving and mail-in giving are both still an option.
  • The bathrooms will be available for urgent needs. Please use Entrance D (the gym entrance). Only one person/family is permitted at a time, and please use the provided disinfectant wipes and spray to clean all surfaces touched when done. We also ask that you don’t go throughout the building at this time.
  • There will be no childcare or nursery available at this time. So just be prepared for kids who are restless and noisy. This is ok!
  • After service: Although an organized fellowship time will have to wait, you are free to safely connect with people after worship elsewhere. The ushers will help direct everyone to leave in an orderly fashion. Those in cars will be the first to leave.
